Any visitors to the new Spectrecom Films website will have noted a powerful image of an athlete on our homepage. That image comes from a film we’ve made for the University of East London; part of a five-part series which has just debuted online.

UEL has a bold aim to be the number one university for sport in London by 2015, and it’s making startling progress towards that goal, climbing 51 places in the British University and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league table in the last two years.

To highlight its commitment to sport, UEL joined forces with Spectrecom Films last year to produce the new film series covering the full range of UEL’s sporting offering: high performance sports scholarships, sports facilities, sports courses, sports research, and sports participation.

We’re really excited to see how audiences respond to the series, but it’s already got the seal of approval from Mark Burey, Head of Communications and Public Relations at UEL.

“This was an ambitious project, but the final films work really well. They’re stylish, and capture the amazing, comprehensive sports offer that we have at UEL. It’s clear that the films are playing their part in helping us reach new audiences.”

Leading the series is a showpiece film centring on Team GB sprinter, UEL sports scholar and rising star of British athletics, Adam Gemili. Shot at UEL and Newham Leisure Centre, the film shines a spotlight on the mind of a top athlete, combining insight with terrific visual impact.

Here are the other four films, starting with Sport at the University of East London.

SportsDock, UEL’s 21million sports centre open to students, members of the public and international athletes, as evinced by its use by Team USA during the London 2012 Olympics.
