Every REF Tells a Story
At Spectrecom Films, we’ve produced video content for more than 35 different UK universities. The videos we make come in all shapes and sizes, covering all manner of different topics, including research.
All videos are tailored to their specific project brief. But at the heart of every one of them is the same thing: story.
These stories inform. But they do so with warmth, emotion and authenticity. They make the audience feel involved, they tell them something they didn’t know before, and they inspire them to take action.

‘Good Vibrations: Harvesting Energy from Sound’
The internet absolutely loves quirky science stories – something which plenty of university research departments have at their disposal.
Spectrecom produced this film about a novel new device for converting sonic vibrations into energy as part of a six-strong research series for QMUL.
Its potent brew of scientific interest and imagination-capturing ingenuity has seen it draw a big online audience; 40,000 YouTube views and counting.
Our Account Managers
A big part of Spectrecom’s success with higher education clients is down to Kathy Bird and Oliver Knight, our account managers for universities. Both have years of experience working within HE marketing and communications.
