What was the brief?
The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, the University of London’s drama conservatoire, is an international leader for professional theatre and performance-related training. There is no other faculty, worldwide, that offers such a diverse range of specialist Masters programmes in theatre and performance practices.
Central asked Spectrecom to collaborate on producing a series of videos to promote their 14 specialist Masters courses, to inform and engage prospective students as well as offer a taste of the postgraduate student experience.
How did we approach the brief?
There were a lot of unique qualities to communicate in these films so we had to think of a way to distill those propositions whilst allowing the passion and creativity of the students and programme leaders to shine through.
This did, however, present Spectrecom with a bit of a challenge; producing 14 videos within a limited budget and an extremely tight timeframe. However, thanks to the effort of the production team, some clever planning and a creative approach that worked across all of the films, we pulled it off with fantastic results.
The films that Spectrecom produced were extremely well received by both the client and the viewers and off the back of this project, we have gone on to work with the school on another three projects.
Each film in the series feels unique, but all inform prospective students about the programmes, offering a strong, consistent message about the quality of the school.
“Working with Spectrecom has been a seamless process. From our first meeting to delivery of the final videos, they have been resourceful, professional and hugely accommodating. The films delivered are of a standard we had only dared hope for; the needs of both academic and marketing staff were met at every turn. In addition to this, the team is so good natured that they bring a real sense of fun to the process – we will miss working with them!”Louise Ripley-Duggan
