Facilities

When booking the Spectrecom Studio, we also include the use of the kitchen, make-up (two stations), green room and wardrobe for no extra cost. We are also happy to arrange for production space and wireless internet access, if required. When booking, we advise all guests coming by car to read our Parking Information PDF before travelling here .

STUDIO EQUIPMENT
The cyclorama is normally standard TV white, and we have 12’ x 48’ of black drape. We regularly paint the cyc in chromakey green or blue, or other colours if required. The cost depends on the amount of area to be covered. For the full cyc wall performance area (1200 sq.ft) in chromakey green or blue, the cost is £250 +VAT.

Although we always try to ensure that equipment is always available, as we also operate as a production company it is likely that elements may be in use. With that in mind, please book in advance to ensure that we have the necessary equipment available for you on the day.

Please also ask about any additional equipment you may need: track, dolly, additional lighting etc. We can source all of this equipment from our regular suppliers, and have it ready for you when you arrive.


CREW
The Studio Manager will inititally oversee your shoot, operate the lighting grid (if required) and provide a health & safety briefing. If you would like him to operate as a Gaffer, there is a £175 charge.

Additional crew need to be hired by separate negotiation. You can bring all your own crew, or you can ask us to fill certain roles for you.

Lighting
The studio manager is not hired as an additional member of your crew. However, he can work as a lighting operator to rig and change lighting set-ups to your requirements throughout the day for an additional £175. If the studio manager is unavailable for a hire, a Gaffer familiar with our studio can also be brought in to light the studio for £250 per day.

Camera
We have our own HDV Z1 cameras and can provide camera and operator for £280 per day. If you require any other equipment, please inform us in advance and we can ensure that this is hired for you, although there may be an additional fee for this service..

Editing
We have our own FCP edit suites and can digitise or edit your material as you shoot it, or immediately afterwards overnight. The full rate is £400 per day. Please contact us prior to booking to ensure that we can schedule work in for you, as our edit suite is often very busy.

Makeup
A make up artist, with makeup, can be provided for £100 - £200 per day. Please contact us for prices.

Runners
Spectrecom runs a series of training courses and can offer running work to keen young trainees with local knowledge for £50 per day (all the money will go to the trainee).


SUPPORT FACILITIES
The Kitchen, Green Room, Makeup Room and Wardrobe Room are all included in the daily hire.

Kitchen
The kitchen has:

• Kettle

• Fridge
• Work top space to prepare food
• Seating
• Freeview TV

There is a sink with hot and cold water, including drinking water, and cutlery, crockery, and glasses. Unless it’s a small shoot, say 5 people or less, we do ask you to bring your own tea, coffee, milk etc.

Green Room
A very comfortable and welcoming room to relax in or to use as a production office. Fitted out with antique furniture, dining table and desk, with landline telephone and WI-FI internet access (you'll just need to ask for an access key). And yes, it is green! A flat screen TV is available and there’s a selection of DVD’s and videos to watch, including a range of titles for children of all ages. Just ask someone in the Spectrecom office!

Makeup
The makeup room has 2 stations and swivel chairs. There’s plenty of shelf storage space and there are hanging hooks behind the door.

Wardrobe
This room is equipped with hanging rails, hangers, chairs, a full-length wall mirror, an ironing board and iron.

Catering
The Sunset Café is on-site and opens 7am - 3pm. Food is of the fresh sandwiches, baked potato, fried breakfast, burger and chips variety, and can be delivered to the studio; a menu is available on request. We deal with several off-site catering companies offering anything from sandwiches to à la carte, all of which can be brought to the studio; menus are available on request.

Further to this, as well as bakeries on Deptford high street, and many eateries close-by in Greenwich, there is an organic cafe located just around the corner, who are happy to supply food for your shoot.

Internet
If required, we can supply an access key to our fast wireless network. We will however, limit the access on larger shoots, due to a cap on the maximum number of connections to our router.

Parking
As well as there being a small amount of parking available on-site, there are also spaces available on the road outside the estate, as well as a £5 all day parking area. Before making your journey we advise all guests coming by car to read our Parking Information PDF. Clampers do operate within the Faircharm estate, and if you are wanting to park please read the PDF regarding the guidelines. Spectrecom cannot be held responsible for clients who are clamped on-site, and will not offer reimbursement for any fines.

Access
A freight lift located at the rear of the building can be used to bring equipment, props etc right up to the studio rear door. This is also ideal access for wheelchair users.
