The TrueView video marketing option has been such a success with web video that Google are now offering the video gaming industry the chance to get involved. The skippable ads will be seen popping up in HTML5 and Flash games across the web, giving publishers more opportunities to monetize their latest releases.

Rebecca Illowsky from Google’s Games Monetization team said:

“For advertisers, reaching users across screens and in different environments is one pain point, they want to be able to reach their audiences effectively using one platform. For publishers, they’ve constantly told us that they want the ability to tap into a large pool of demand from all advertisers, including video advertisers.”

With the online gaming marketing expected to exceed $14 billion by the end of 2017 its great timing for publishers who will now be catching up to video marketing agencies when it comes to spreading the word online about the latest and greatest releases.
