The customer testimonial might be one of the most venerable weapons in the marketer’s arsenal, yet it remains one of the most effective – even in this era of online video production.

After all, your target audience would expect you to blow your own trumpet with every last ounce of gusto. But for someone to give it a hearty toot on your behalf… well, that’s a whole different rumba.

Such mangled musical metaphors lead us to the true subject of today’s nugget of video production news, namely the brand new film produced by us on behalf of London South Bank University.

Said film is intended to promote LSBU’s Investment Escalator, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, a free programme offering London SMEs the support needed to grow their business and improve their access to finance.

And bringing this blogpost full circle, the approach we took to achieving that aim was to eschew representation of the Investment Escalator itself, in favour of yes! – a testimonials-led narrative.

Providing those testimonials were two companies to have benefitted from the Investment Escalator’s expert consultancy – Digital Detox and Caffé Biscardi 1903.

By featuring both these companies, the film showcases the sheer variety of companies the programme is able to assist – whether they be artisan or online.

Kudos to the members of the Spectrecom family who worked on the film – Peter Ford, Alex Kerr and Dani Wilmot prominent amongst their number.
