This year’s IVCA Awards nominations have just been revealed, with Spectrecom picking up nods in two categories including Best Brand Event for our 48-hour studio-based live event filmed on behalf of Skittles last spring.

Skittles is, of course, renowned for the creativity and distinctive character of its marketing, making it both a pleasure and a challenge to come up with something worthy of so illustrious a lineage.

But that’s just what we did in conjunction with marketing agency Mesh, by bringing an upside-down rainbow into our Waterloo Film Studios and asking 100,000 Facebook fans to pledge the Skittles needed to fill it.

The campaign was targeted at Skittles fans in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and ended up attracting 13,888 hours of total viewing and over 110,000 visitors to the Facebook-housed microsite over the course of its 48-hour runtime.

The 2014 IVCA Awards are taking place on 28 March. Till then, here’s the video round-up of that Skittles extravaganza.
