Forget the Oscars and Ben Affleck gushing like a geyser that’s just popped its top – as far as video production companies like Spectrecom are concerned, the main film awards in town are the IVCAs. The nominations for this year’s awards have just been announced, the 25th in the IVCA’s history, and Spectrecom has been shortlisted for Best Documentary and Best Direction.
With more than 1,000 production members (including Spectrecom), the International Visual Communications Association is the biggest trade body of its type in Europe. It works to protect and enhance the collective interests of video marketing companies, and it also holds an annual awards ceremony, rewarding the best filmed communications of the year.
Spectrecom is a prior IVCA Gold winner, and we’re pleased as punch that our film for West Kent Lifeways has been nominated in two categories at this year’s awards – Best Documentary and Best Direction – sharing space in both categories with three other nominees, from some of the biggest names in the industry.
Congratulations to all the Spectrecom team who worked on the film, especially producer Rob Jowers and director Richard Butterworth, and we’ll be eagerly anticipating the IVCA Awards ceremony on 22 March to see whether those nominations can be converted into trophies!
Here’s the nominated film itself…
