There have been some arresting drink/drug driving videos in recent years – from the unlikely NZ viral hit Legend, to the more recent Pub Loo Shocker stunt ad.

A new video in similar vein has just been launched by the Texas Department of Transportation. Aimed at curbing ‘buzzed driving’, it’s reminiscent of the UK drink driving ad from a few years back which saw the guy smashing into the girl he’s eyeing up in a bar.

That ad went full throttle for its special effects, but the new Texan video goes the other way – using super-slow motion, captured at 600 frames per second.

Doing a decent job of getting its point across, the execution of the slo-mo is neat enough, being reminiscent of the opening of the music video for Simple Math by Manchester Orchestra.
