We’re delighted to announce that Sarah Aynesworth married Tristan Kinloch last weekend. Sarah was one of Spectrecom’s founding directors and left the business last year to spend time with Tristan, a professional yacht skipper. The couple first met in Pategonia in 1998 when Sarah was sailing in the Cable & Wireless ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ challenge, and Tristan proposed in January last year. The candlelit wedding took place in the village church at Burnsall, in the Yorkshire Dales, with Andrew and Steve serving as her Men of Honour.
The reception was held at The Craven Arms, a highlight being the happy couples’ first dance which will soon be featuring on YouTube – and this site! The Craven Arms is a stunning country pub owned by Sarah’s parents that features a cruck barn built by Sarah’s father, David and brother, Robert. Built of stone with low beams, open fires in every room and a roof thatched in heather, this is a definitely a destination pub: www.craven-cruckbarn.co.uk. If you’re ever in the Yorkshire Dales, you’ll simply have to go and experience it for yourself. Burnsall is the beautiful setting for the opening scenes of the feature film Calendar Girls, and as it happens Sarah worked as a locations assistant on that movie.
The couple are now honeymooning in India and when they return, they will be based in Palma, Majorca, where they have bought an apartment close to the harbour. Along with her new commitments, Sarah will continue in her role as Spectrecom’s company secretary. When Tristan is at sea, as in 2012 Sarah has promised to keep her hand in with Spectrecom and manage new projects from time to time. All of us at Spectrecom wish Sarah and Tristan long and lasting happiness!
