As a film and video production company, it’s only logical that Spectrecom should mostly work on film and video productions, right? But hold on, we also have past form in the games industry, not least through our ‘Call of Duty’ films. And earlier this year, Spectrecom Studios played host to another monster game series.
‘Resident Evil’ is one of the genuine blockbuster properties of the video games multiverse.
Since launching on the PlayStation back in 1996, it’s gone on to spawn myriad sequels, movies and spin-offs, attracting an army of ardent fans in the process.
The series is the brainchild of Capcom, the Japanese video games firm renowned for authoring such 16-bit classics as ‘Mega Man X’, ‘Final Fight’, and the bone-crunching boss of ‘em all, ‘Street Fighter II’.
Back at the start of the year, Capcom UK (in conjunction with PR agency Indigo Pearl) arranged a very special premiere day for the new ‘Resident Evil’ game, ‘Resident Evil Revelations 2’.
The idea was to invite press and fans down to play the new game and meet some of the talented individuals behind it, with this all taking place in one big spooky space specially kitted out to convey the game’s ominous atmosphere.
With the fun of the day also needing to be filmed, there weren’t many London production companies able to deliver a suitably substantial space and the requisite crew and kit. But of course, that’s just what Spectrecom was able to provide.
To see how the day went down, check out the highlights reel at the top of this page. And if you want to see some more of Spectrecom’s agency and PR work, then take a look at our Brands page.
