In a high budget video marketing piece akin to something by Nike or maybe the last Avengers trailer, Qatar Airways has turned Barca FC into its own country.

The film has all the usual occurrences of a big budget sports ad complete with comedy appearances from the players – such as Pique playing an immigration officer, even Gary Lineker pops up as a cabbie.

With a view count heading towards 3 million and a comments box overflowing with Real/Barca ‘banter’ it’s the typical result for a football team themed video production.

As the World Cup next summer begins to loom we can expect to see football slowly start to take over the advertising screens, just as the stars of the Olympics popped up in anything and everything in 2012.
