According to comScore and their Video Metrix report, December 2013 has become the first month where online videos have garnered over 50 billion views.

Before you get too excited though, we have to take the figure with a grain of salt as the tracking of the video views isn’t exactly fair. For example, any 3-second video clip is included and multiple views of single content are also counted.

This means that if you watched something on 4OD twice you might rack up something like eight views for the total experience including the adverts served within the video.

The rise in shared Vine videos on social media have attributed massively to the huge figures with the six second wonders becoming a massive hit last year.

Lets see if the record will get broken this year! (It almost certainly will). We will need some more of these though:
