Spectrecom is a video production company with experience in a great many different sectors – from education to finance, from charities to travel & leisure.

The world of video production has moved on a great deal since Spectrecom first flung open its doors eight years ago, with it no longer being sufficient to make a film that simply trumpets your credentials if you want it to find any kind of wider audience.

The capriciousness of online viewers in particular means you need to draw them in with video content that they might actually want to watch, and a great route to getting under the skin of a company or organisation is to adopt a documentary approach which will deliver those deeper, more meaningful stories.

A filmmaking strength within the company, Spectrecom has been garlanded for its documentary work just this year, as we collected Silver in the Best Documentary category at the 2013 IVCA Awards.

Here are three recent projects produced by us which took a documentary approach to their subject, and delivered stronger films for the client as a result.

LYG Sporting Legacy in Action
A terrific case study of the positive impact made by the London Youth Games, this film documents the story of the Hounslow Hawks, an all-girls basketball club formed following the 2006 Games.

10 Years. One West Kent Extra.
We secured that IVCA Silver Award for a prior documentary project on behalf of West Kent, and this newer film celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the organisation’s community development charity took a similar approach, while incorporating a much larger roster of contributors and more diffuse collection of messages.

Livability – Let Me Work
Produced for the charity Livability, this film details the experiences of Darren and Dave, two professionally successful people with disabilities.

Created to spearhead the Let Me Work campaign, which seeks government action to increase the employment of disabled people in the UK, the film recently secured an IVCA Clarion Gold Award for Best Third Sector Campaign.

Spectrecom has a particularly strong record of documentary and case study filming for charity clients. Take a look at our charities page to see our showreel and find out more about what we can do.
