Now famous for making adverts that make your Mum cry every year, John Lewis are celebrating 150 years with a brand new video marketing extravaganza.
The video features some of the tried and tested methods in video production that have served them well over the years. The seamless scene editing cuts between the decades following various families playing, living…and running away from bombs.
The film also features a classic soundtrack brought up to date by a ‘contemporary’ artist – this time its Gaz Coombes of Supergrass singing The Kinks’ track “This Time Tomorrow”.
What are your thoughts? Is it another saccharine romp or just a really good piece of filmmaking?
