Andrew was a commercial executive working for GEC Plessey Telecommunications until he went to university in Bristol in 1995 to study for a future in film and television. He met Sarah and Steve here and they collaborated on most of their student film projects together. It was during this time that Spectrecom was born - Andrew set up the small private concern to make corporate videos to help fund his student years.
After university, he worked as an art director in Bristol, notching up over 20 credits on ITV drama, short films and commercials. He also worked as a director on documentaries with dramatic re-constructions for HTV and LWT, he wrote and directed the short film Endgame (Winner TCM Classic Shorts Competition 2005) and he is currently writing a 2 hour drama for television.
Andrew’s commitment to corporate film production has continued since university – Spectrecom became a limited company and moved to its new London studio premises in April 2005. A committed environmentalist, Andrew has made sure that good corporate responsibility is incorporated into the mainstream of the company’s activities. If you waste water or electricity when he’s around, you’ll soon know about it!
Andrew divides his time between driving and expanding the business, and producing some of our films – he scripted and directed our shoots for Durham University, Saga, Ideal Standard and Schering Plough. He lives near the studio, often cycles into work, and he’s a keen mid-distance runner.
